Obituary

Robert (Bob or Boomer) William Price passed on 2/25/2025.

Bob (Boomer) Price, was so full of life. In the first chapter of his life he played softball. Hence the nickname Boomer. At some point he got into the automotive business of body work and paint. Painting a car for him was like art, & he loved the challenge of making something that was ugly look beautiful again. He was married to a wonderful woman named Linda Dautremont for 8 years. After they divorced and a few mistakes later, he sold everything or gave it away and moved to California for about a year. He lived with his brother Jim during this time making memories and annoying each other like siblings do.

When he moved back to Omaha in 1989 he worked at Paddy's bar and grill as a bartender. He loved bartending, but he loved auto body more and went back to work for an auto body shop. During his time at Paddy's, he met his wife of 34 & half years, Lorinda Burt-Price. Over the years they had 1 child Maxine Rose Price and 1 granddaughter, Jean'ne Kay Jones, which were both the apple of his eye.  He loved doing things with both of them, golfing with Maxine and anything with Jean'ne.

Bob's passions during this chapter in his life was cooking, golfing, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. If there was a party he was in the middle of it, in all chapters of his life. If you were playing trivia about music, you definitely wanted him on your team. He would love to play his guitar and jam with anyone that wanted to take the time.

At some point Bob grew allergic to auto paint, about 20 years ago he had to switch careers and that is when he started working for the City of Omaha at Benson Golf Course, also the Knowles.  About 4 years ago he moved to Game & Parks to mow for Tranquility a couple of summers. He loved to mow, he made that into an art challenge as well. His field looked like basket weaves from the street. After a couple of years at Tranquility he moved back to the Knowles. During this time he made many new friends.  He especially enjoyed his last 2 years working at the Knowles with a particular group of people.  You know who you are.

Bob's favorite job of all time was being an Uncle, Brother, Husband, Dad and Papa. Whether we wanted his advice or not, he gave it.  He loved us and we loved him unconditionally.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Rose Martens; father, Harold Lee Price; sister, Sharon M Matya; brothers-in-law Donald (Don) Matya and Charles (Chuck) Dunn.

He is survived by his wife Lorinda Kay Burt-Price; daughter Maxine Rose Price; granddaughter, Jean'ne Kay Jones; his ex-wife, Linda Dautremont; siblings; James (Jim) Price, Marylou & Jerry Heaton, Gerianne Dunn, Peggy Price; goddaughter, Kerry Heaton; godson, Ryan Dunn; many nieces and nephews, including the greats. We cannot leave out his adoring dog Archie and cat Midge.
