Luke Martin Perez, 39, passed away on December 8, 2025, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Born on April 30, 1986, in North Platte, Nebraska, Luke brought light and laughter into the lives of those around him from the very beginning.
A proud graduate of North Platte High School's Class of 2005, Luke was known for his vibrant personality and magnetic presence. Whether it was his infectious smile or his quick wit, he had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued. His sense of humor was unmatched—he could lift spirits with a single joke or with his charismatic smile.
Luke had a deep love for drawing and found joy in expressing himself through art. He also enjoyed lifting and cheering on Husker football, passions that reflected both his strength and his loyalty. Those who knew him best remember how he lit up every room he entered—not just with his smile but with the warmth and kindness he extended to others.
He faced life's challenges with courage, including a long struggle with addiction. Through it all, Luke remained deeply devoted to his family. His loyalty was unwavering, and he held those closest to him in the highest regard.
Luke is lovingly remembered by his mother, Julie Perez; brothers, Eric Perez, Adam (Cathy) Perez, James (Darri Ann) Perez, Lee (Mariana) Perez, Alan Perez. He also leaves behind nephews, Evan Perez, Dominic Perez; nieces, Olivia Perez, Kenzi Perez, and Natalia Perez—all of whom brought him great pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marty Perez; grandparents, Mary and Jack Creel, Jennie and Tom Garvin, and Jessie Perez; niece, Elli Perez.
Luke's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May his spirit continue to inspire kindness, laughter, and love in all who were fortunate enough to know him. A drop in reception will be held on December 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM at The Corner Kick 681 N 132nd St. The family plans to hold a Celebration of Life in the spring 2026 with details to follow later.
