Obituary

Kellie Mae Angerman “Kelty,” age 46, passed away February 7, 2026 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born October 29th, 1979, in Portland, Oregon, a daughter of John Thiessen and Delanie Bigalow.

Growing up, Kellie loved playing softball, tetherball, and rollerblading around town. She graduated with the Class of 1998 from Douglas County High School in Castle Rock, Colorado, where she formed many lifelong friendships and met her late ex-husband, Jeromy Angerman. Together, Kellie and Jeromy spent many years building a family and welcoming four beautiful children: Sierrah, Gavyn, Drake, and Ahmara.Kellie later completed CNA courses at Iowa Western Community College and went on to serve her community with dedication and compassion. She worked for many years in the emergency room at Mercy Hospital and later as a cardiac technician at Creighton University. After her divorce, Kellie moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where she met her devoted partner and fiancé of fourteen years, James DeJarnett. Their families blended seamlessly, and four children quickly became eight—without even counting the many friends of her children whom she loved and treated as her own. Kellie cherished her years as a stay-at-home mother and was overjoyed when she earned the title of “Nana.” She took immense pride in supporting her family at sporting events, school concerts, and every milestone in between. Loving her family fiercely and upholding traditions were at the heart of who she was.Kellie was a homemaker in every sense of the word. She delighted in cooking for her family (though she would be the first to say this did not include baking—something she disliked almost as much as shopping). Creative to her core, she spent countless hours sewing, crocheting, crafting crystal jewelry, and making beautiful décor for her home and for family celebrations. Sunday brunch was one of her most cherished traditions, a weekly ritual she held close to her heart. She is preceded in death by her mother, Delanie Bigalow; her grandparents, Betty and Abe LeRoy Thiessen; and her first husband, Jeromy Angerman.Kellie is survived by her fiancé, James DeJarnett of Omaha, Nebraska; her four children, Sierrah Angerman, Gavyn Angerman, Drake Angerman, and Ahmara Angerman, all of Omaha; her two stepsons, Joshua (Kourtney) DeJarnett and Josiah (Any) DeJarnett, also of Omaha; her father, John (Debra) Thiessen; her brother, Abe (Shanna) Thiessen; her sisters, Brittney Welch of Denver, Colorado, and Genaveave Thiessen of Grand Junction, Colorado; and her beloved grandchildren, Scarlett Dunn, Matthew DeJarnett, Mikhail DeJarnett, and Kylo DeJarnett, all of Omaha. She is also survived by her nieces Shyanne Thiessen, Dakota Thiessen, Savannah Thiessen, and Mercedes Hughes of Omaha; Jenna Halpin of Hawaii; her nephew, R.J. Halpin of Hawaii; and her great-nieces Ziamara Thiessen and Giavana Thiessen of Omaha. Kellie leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends whose lives she touched along her journey.Kellie’s time on earth was far too short, but the love she gave—fierce, generous, and unwaver
