Obituary

James Thomas Griffin Sr., born October 17, 1950, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025. A beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Jim leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and an unshakeable spirit that touched everyone who knew him.

One of Jim's greatest joys in life was being a grandfather. His grandkids lit up his world, and he lit up theirs. Whether he was fishing with them, teasing them with his signature humor, or simply sitting beside them sharing stories, he poured endless love into each of them. They were his pride, his happiness, and some of his most treasured blessings.

A lifelong fan of NASCAR, football, and anything with an engine, Jim found joy in the roar of a race and the beauty of a finely tuned car. His passions brought him countless hours of happiness and plenty of opportunities to share stories with friends and family.

Jim was known for his infectious laugh — the kind that could brighten a room and lift even the heaviest spirits. He had a gift for making people smile, and he used it often. Whether through a joke, a warm grin, or a simple moment of kindness, he made the world a little lighter.

Those who loved him will remember him not only for the hobbies he enjoyed, but for the heart he shared: generous, humorous, and full of life. His memory will continue to live on through the laughter he inspired, the love he gave, and the family who adored him.

May he rest in peace, reunited with those he missed so dearly — finally dancing among the stars with Judy, the love of his life.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and W.B., his sister Patricia, great-grandson Miller, and his wife, Judy. Their memories were always close to his heart. He is survived by his children — Kandi, Laurie, Karen (Jay), and James (Kelly)— his grandchildren Anthony, Kathleen, Amanda, Katlyn (Ryan), Trevor (Jessica), Kelsey, Michelle, Tessa, Tanner (Taylor), Liam, Quinn, and Gaibrial — his great-grandchildren Piper, Evelynn, Millie, Jayden, Kolton, Levi, Torri, Bella, Daphne, Jude, Delilah, Babyboy, Elli, and one on the way — is also survived by his siblings Johnny (Starla), Debbie, Diane, Sharon, and Beadie, and many nieces, nephews, and friends, especially Steve, Ray, and Theresa,  who will forever cherish his guidance, humor, and unwavering love.
