In Loving Memory of Garrett Drew Cole Armstrong

Garrett Drew Cole Armstrong passed away on August 11, 2026, at the young age of 37. Garrett was a loving father who cherished his two children, Angel and Austin Armstrong, and Alekz Adams, whom he loved and treated like a son in every way. His children were a tremendous source of love and pride in his life.

Garrett was happiest when he was surrounded by family, especially in his beloved garage. He could often be found tinkering with his Dodge Stratus, visiting with his dad, nieces, and nephews, throwing back a few cold ones, and telling stories—stories that his family had probably heard a hundred times before, but that Garrett never seemed to tire of telling.

Nothing brought Garrett quite as much excitement as the Fourth of July. He absolutely loved blowing things up and putting on a fireworks show for everyone to enjoy. Garrett and his dad would proudly show off their newest recipes and latest grilling techniques, turning the holiday into a feast for both the belly and the eyes. Those Fourth of July celebrations were filled with food, laughter, family, and, of course, Garrett’s spectacular fireworks.

When Garrett wasn't in the garage or preparing for his next big Fourth of July display, you could often find him at the racetrack, enjoying his love of fast cars and the excitement of watching the races or on the lanes bowling. It was a family anffair, wherever he was, Garrett was always enjoying his time doing the things he loved with the ones he loved.

Garrett will be deeply missed by his parents, Terry and Kris Armstrong; his siblings, Wanda (Carl) Robinson/King, Charlotte (John) Fittro, and Caroline (Jeremy) Gonka/Duvall; his children, Angel Armstrong and Austin Armstrong; his stepson, Alekz Adams; and several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who were like family to us all.

Garrett was preceded in death by his sister, Connie Petersen and his grandparents.

Garrett's life was far too short, but the memories he created will live on through the people who loved him. His laughter, stories, love of family, fast cars, grilling, and legendary Fourth of July celebrations will not be forgotten. He will be missed more than words can express and remembered with love by his family and friends.
